publicity image for a three dimensional drawing tool

Description

TWT is a three dimensional drawing tool created with software called "processing". It was initially designed for use by artists with disabilities, enabling users with limited motor skills to create digital images. During research I included a second camera and the three dimensional tool was created.

The user operates the tool by moving a simple light within a designated area. Attached to the light is a box with a button, this houses the internals of a wireless mouse. By moving the light and holding down the button the user can create drawings on the screen in front of them. The drawings are three dimensional, meaning that you can create an image with depth, such as a cube or sphere - see the movies page for examples.

The light is tracked by the two cameras, one camera tracks the X and Y coordinates while the other one tracks the Z.

This version of TWT can save image files(jpg) and DXF files for importing to 3D software such as 3DStudio Max.
I am currently in the process of having one of the files prepared for three dimensional printing and hopefully I will be presenting an exhibition of prints in the near future.
